Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were anticipating more assaults.
